What You'll Do:
Promote Safety. Take an active role in prioritizing safety
throughout the operation for yourself and others at all times in
accordance with MSHA and Vulcan standards.
Repair and Maintain Mobile Equipment. Service, repair, adjust, and
test all mobile equipment that operates throughout the plant in
order to maximize performance and limit downtime.
Inspect Equipment and Material. Inspect all mobile equipment to
identify and troubleshoot the cause of errors. Perform repairs to
address problems when necessary.
Handle and Move Objects. Handle, install, position, and move parts,
materials, and industrial hand tools in a safe manner throughout
the shop and plant.
Document and Record Information. Ensure correct and accurate
documentation is completed on a daily and monthly basis regarding
all mobile equipment. Enter and maintain service reports for all
the mobile equipment in written or electronic form.
Operate Equipment. Assist in driving heavy equipment and vehicles
throughout the plant when necessary in order to ensure production
continues in an efficient manner.
Perform General Physical Activities. Perform physical activities
that require moving your whole body and considerable use of your
arms and legs, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking,
stooping, and handling materials.
Additional Responsibilities. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Skills You'll Need:
Experience. Two (2) years of experience with extensive and
practical "hands-on" knowledge of diesel and electrical repair in
shipyard operations and equipment is preferred.
Functional Knowledge. Must be knowledgeable of marine engine and
transmission operation, propulsion dynamics, and hydraulics.
Time Management Skills. Must be able to work with multiple tasks
and strict deadlines.
Flexibility. Must be able to respond to the demands of a 365/24
system, including on-call duties and emergency response. Must be
able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and
tolerate being exposed to loud noises.

Hourly Range: the hourly range for this role is between $21.63 -
$41.07. This range is not inclusive of our discretionary bonus or
equity package. When determining a candidate's compensation, we
consider a number of factors, including skillset, experience, job
scope, and current market data.
