Sentara Norfolk General Hospital located in Norfolk, Virginia is hiring a RN for the Burn Trauma, -Intermediate Care - Medical/Surgical -Unit! - - -Position is Full Time (36 hours per week) Day Shift.RN Unit Coordinators demonstrate proficiency in nursing practice for assigned specialty area and provides clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care in a department. Under the direction of the department manager leads safety and quality initiatives, focuses on and simplifies workflow, and contributes to the development of staff. Increase staff satisfaction and promotes excellent (Gold Standard) customer service.Unit Descriptor: Burn Trauma is a 34-bed mixed Intermediate care and medical/surgical unit. - - There are 17 beds for stepdown/intermediate level of care. - The patient population is neurosurgery, trauma, burns and orthopedic trauma. The intermediate care patients are received from both the Burn Trauma ICU and the Neurosurgical ICU. -Also, there are 17 beds for Medical/Surgical level of care for neurosurgical, trauma, burns, orthopedic trauma, and bariatric weight loss (gastric bypass and gastric sleeves). -Our nurses are trained to work both the intermediate and the medical surgical side. - - The nurse to patient ratio for the Intermediate Care beds are 3 to 4 and for the Medical/Surgical beds are 5 to 6. The Registered Nurse will work in a collaborative role as part of a team to maintain and support the standards of nursing care and practice, to meet the health care needs of patients, their families, and the community.As a -Registered Nurse -Unit Coordinator with Sentara, you can excel in your career.
