difference. The Opportunity: Organizational Development Specialist
- Talent AcquisitionThe main objective of this position is to
contribute to the retention and development of a diverse and
talented team by fulfilling recruiting and onboarding duties, and
supporting performance management and development activities. What
You'll Do: Responsibilities
- Develop, facilitate, and implement all phases of the
recruitment process to attract a diverse pool of qualified and
capable talent for the organization.
- Collaborate with hiring managers to draft detailed and accurate
job descriptions and hiring criteria and support them with
onboarding their new team member.
- Generate a pipeline of qualified candidates for open positions
using a variety of recruiting methods and resources including
attending events, career fairs, and networking opportunities, and
leveraging social media and industry/discipline-specific job
boards.
- Use the human resource information system (HRIS) and other
systems to create, post, manage job openings, and maintain job
descriptions for each role.
- Schedule and arrange interviews, prepare interview guides, and
collaborate with hiring managers to conduct interviews.
- Provide timely communication and feedback to candidates to
facilitate a smooth interview and onboarding experience.
- Complete pre-employment screening and administer any
pre-employment assessments.
- Maintain all appropriate documentation and HRIS entries for
recruitment and employee lifecycle changes (onboarding through
offboarding), and ensure public records and information are
managed, maintained, and disposed of according to the Library of
Virginia retention and disposition schedules and the Virginia Port
Authority records management policies and procedures.
- Issue new hire surveys and analyze results to adjust
recruitment and onboarding processes and respond to any
issues.
- Manage the employee swag store, including inventory management,
ordering, and distribution to enhance employee engagement and brand
representation.
- Develop and implement the internship program.
- Contribute to the development and management of engagement
events and programs.
- Serve as backup for performance management and development
activities.
- Other duties as assigned. Who You Are: QualificationsBachelor's
degree in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent work
experience required. At least five years of relevant experience.
