Job Description:
Job Title: NDT Level II InspectorJob DescriptionWe are seeking a
highly skilled NDT Level II Inspector with documented qualification
and certification to the Level II requirements for ASNT's
SNT-TC-1A, 2001 Edition or later. The ideal candidate will have
passed both written general theory and procedure-specific
examinations, as well as practical examinations for the applicable
NDT methods. This role requires a minimum of 4 years of documented
continuous experience as a certified inspector in the relevant
inspection methods.ResponsibilitiesConduct MT inspections on
structural welds in a shop environment.Perform minor grinding for
relevancy checks during MT inspections.Climb and crawl as necessary
to access inspection areas.Operate and maintain NDT equipment and
record and analyze results.Pass practical examinations administered
by Newport News.Pass visual acuity exams and additional vision
tests administered by Newport News.Maintain and provide current
certification documentation containing training and experience
records, examination results, and vision test records.Comply with
OSHA regulations related to the shipbuilding industry.Work any
shift as required (1st shift: 7am-3:30pm, 2nd shift: 3:30-11pm, and
3rd shift: 11pm-7am).Essential SkillsCertified to Level II
requirements for ASNT's SNT-TC-1A, 2001 Edition or later.Minimum 4
years of documented continuous experience as a certified inspector
in the applicable inspection methods.Current VT and MT
certifications showing Level II as well as documented training
hours.Proficiency in conducting MT and VT inspections.Ability to
pass practical and vision examinations.Familiarity with OSHA
regulations relative to the shipbuilding industry.Additional Skills
& QualificationsSafety Harness and Respirator qualification.Ability
to distinguish between various colors (MT inspectors).Experience
working in a shipyard or similar environment.Physical ability to
lift up to 50 lbs, climb vertical ladders, and crawl in tanks and

EnvironmentLocated in Southeast Virginia, the shipyard stretches
over 5 miles long. The environment is very hot and muggy during the
summer and cool during the winter. All work will be performed on a
Navy vessel or in a shop environment. Candidates must be able to
work any shift, with the possibility of working up to 12 hours each
day based on individual supervisor discretion.Job Type &
