Richmond Behavioral Healthhasfull-time positions available for a Clinician I/II to support our Therapuetic Day Treatment team with the Children's Mental Health Division. The successful applicant will perform intermediate professional work providing direct clinical service to clients involving intake, assessing client needs, developing treatment plans, providing prevention services , managing cases, providing therapy, maintaining records and files, preparing reports, and related work as apparent or assigned.
Job Duties
Monitors and manages an assigned caseload; performs case management duties to support assigned caseload.
Provides crisis intervention and counseling services to individuals and families.
Develops and maintains administrative and clinical files; prepares various reports and case related correspondence.
Provides consultation, education and prevention services; provides drug and alcohol testing.
Participates in clinical, administrative and supervisory meetings; collaborates with other staff for case consultation.
Performs intakes, client assessments and diagnostic interviews, and develops and writes comprehensive intake and diagnostic summaries and reports; conducts mental health assessment and monitors level of functioning.
Develops and facilitates psycho-educational groups; provides individual, family and group counseling; implements treatment plans; coordinates daily treatment schedule.
Serves as member on local multi-disciplinary team & participates in reviews; prepares relevant case documentation.
Delivers, provides and monitors medications; provides physician and staff with updates; maintains medical records in accordance with standards.
Prioritizes medication and lab work monitoring with medical staff to maintain compliance.
Manages and documents contacts; enters and updates information in database.
Coordinates case management services; coordinates and links client to community resources and medical services; interfaces with other service providers and client support system.
Attends professional conferences and trainings as required.
Provides child minding assistance to clients attending treatment groups, as needed.
Provides transportation assistance, as needed.
Attends court as needed to update the court on the participants progress and/or status of new referrals.
Supervises student interns as directed.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
General knowledge of the principles and practices of providing care to individuals who may be emotionally disturbed, socially dysfunctional, behaviorally disordered, suffer from mental illness and/or substance use disorders, and their families; general knowledge of community resources and human services network; general knowledge of community-based behavioral health principles and psychotherapeutic treatment techniques; general knowledge of the theories and techniques of counseling and crisis intervention; thorough knowledge of intake techniques and procedures; ability to evaluate and screen clients; ability to prepare adequate records and to report findings and data effectively; ability to solve problems within scope of responsibility; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, supervisors, consultants, community partners, law enforcement, associates and the general public.

  • Position Requirements

    Education and Experience
    Master's degree with coursework in social work, counseling, psychology, or related field and moderate experience working with children with behavioral health disorders and/or developmental disabilities in a behavioral healthcare setting.
    Special Requirements
    Master's Degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related human services field required.
    Valid driver's license in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
    Prescreening certification preferred.
    LMHP-E Required.
    Qualifying license eligible staff will be eligible for a $4K sign-on bonus as defined by the terms and conditions of the approved sign-on bonus policy.

    Starting Salary Range

    Clinician I $57,293.01 non-licensed - Clinician II $61,868.12 VA licensed - LCSW, LPC, LCP, or LMFT
